Purpose and benefits of utilizing reference/drone tones:

<li>A reference (or drone) tone establishes a foundation of harmonic stability. By exposing our ears to the interactions of multiple pitches, we enhance our internal pitch perception. Through playing alongside a movable pitch (instrument or voice) in relation to a fixed pitch (drone tone), we begin to recognize genuinely harmonious perfect intervals and distinguish nuances within Major/Minor intervals. This heightened sensitivity to relative pitch contributes to artistic expression through precise intonation.</li>
